artistic works are guided by my past and present surroundings
and experiences. I look to nature to
influence my paintings
and color palette.
Nature reveals itself to me, and I reproduce it in my own style.
Self-taught, I am always looking to capture and display simple,
serene, and beautiful
subjects to achieve “the thrill of creative effort.”
Being a successful entrepreneur has given Chester the discipline and drive to pursue one of his true passions…art. His love of art began in Central America where he was born and grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the region. The romantic and mystical New Orleans, where he lived for many years and attended Tulane University, fostered a continued appreciation for nature and the arts. His travels throughout the Mediterranean gave him the opportunity to observe the vivid colors and changing atmospheres of the region; to study ancient architecture and the Masters. Currently living in Southern California with its rugged mountains and magical coastline adds new dimensions to his paintings. All of his memories, surroundings and travels provide a continued inspiration for Chester’s canvases.
Chester’s recent exhibition in the Chelsea art district in New York City was described as

This is the inspiration for my art. I incorporate the changing hues
of light and seasons in my paintings. My garden, my travels, my surroundings
all provide me with the tapestry for my canvases. Self-taught, I do not
try to paint what is exactly before me, but rather infuse the subjects
with bright and forceful colors from my imagination. Serenity is important
in my life and in my art.
Deborah has enjoyed varied and successful careers in both the worlds of public relations and finance. Now a business owner and liberated from the rigors of corporate life, she is able to pursue her true passion, which is art. Born and raised in New England and now residing in Southern California, she is able to incorporate the visual beauty of both coasts in her paintings using rich, impasto colors.
